Leaping Lizards!

This week our project emphasized “gesture”…..the long directional lines that run through and across the subject. Gesture is the foundation of drawing. When we draw, we begin by laying in the gesture of the subject and suggesting simple shapes. These simple shapes continue to be refined until the drawing is complete. This week we drew lizards found on http://twistynoodle.com. The lizard had an obvious “S” curve. We then transferred the drawings to brown cardstock using “transfer paper”, painted them with acrylic paints, and outlined them with black marker. To add a creative twist, we cut them in four pieces and reassembled them on black paper. Cool!
