Kim Roth – Fine Art Studio offers classes for children (beginning at age 5), teens, and adults. All classes are taught by Kim and are based upon a classical method of teaching. Students learn to represent nature faithfully by using both a sight size and comparative approach to drawing and painting. Students are trained in finding the gesture of the subject and drawing the subject proportionately. They are also trained in matching color (hue, value, and chroma), recognizing how a variety of edges create atmosphere, and how application of a medium (paint or other) can further their concept. Beginning in the 3rd grade, students work on projects tailored to their individual development.
In addition to drawing and painting classes, Kim Roth – Fine Art Studio also offers summer camps and winter / spring break “paint parties”. A popular event at the studio is “Brushes & Blizzards”, a two hour paint event paired with Dairy Queen ice cream treats.
The studio also offers an inspiring space for a private “paint party” to celebrate a birthday or other occasion.
