DRAWING AND PAINTING WORKSHOPS (recommended grades 6th and up) Students learn to “see” through a classical foundation of drawing. Using both a “sight size” and “comparative” approach, I coach each student through a series of drawings from pictures and still life. Emphasis is on correct proportion and modeling form. Students also explore various media. A rotating list of art-related topics are introduced and class projects change from session to session. Students provide their own preferred drawing tools (pencils, eraser, colored pencils, soft pastels, markers, etc). All other materials including acrylic paints, watercolors, brushes, and all paper and canvas supports are provided. Students are encouraged to bring a sketchbook for note-taking and personal use. Students interested in oil painting should contact me for a separate list of supplies to be provided by the student. Easel options are based upon order of sign up. The first nine students registered in each class have options for standing easels. Art benches and table easels are also available.
