Meet the Teachers

KIM ROTH

Kim is the principal and founder of Kim Roth - Fine Art Studio. She received her classical training in drawing and oil painting at the School of Representation Art in Chicago. She opened her studio in 2014 and has taught drawing and painting for over 10 years. Besides teaching at the studio, Kim teaches Art History and Studio Art at Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family High School in Lisle, Illinois. Kim and her husband raised their five children in Naperville and have been residents for over 25 years. Kim currently teaches teen and adult classes at the studio.

LAURA KILICARSLAN

Laura loves all things creative. She took her first watercolor class in 2004 and fell in love with painting. Today she paints for fun, for commission, and for charity. She is a member of the Naperville Art League and has painted many of the large sculptures that lined downtown Naperville for the United Way charity events. She is excited to share her love of art with her students. "Mrs. K" regularly teaches "Pencils, Paper, Paint" for grades k through 2, and "2D Studio" for grades 3 to 6. She also instructs Brushes & Blizzards and other special events!

MICHELLE RYAN

As a child, drawing horses was Michelle's first love. She enrolled in numerous art classes and was particularly fond of her classes in calligraphy and manuscript illumination. Michelle graduated from the Illinois Institute of Art with a BA in Commercial Illustration. Like Kim, she also studied at the School of Representational Art in Chicago, mastering oil painting and composition. She is excited to join the studio and help others develop their passion for art! Michelle teaches "2D Studio" for grades 3 to 6 and teen classes for grades 6 and up.

REBECCA PAULSEN

Rebecca has always delighted in drawing, especially with graphite pencils. Through personal and formal study, she has also explored watercolor and other art mediums. Rebecca is a member and volunteer at the DuPage Art League. She loves creating beautiful watercolor cards for family and friends and drawing or painting in her free time. Rebecca volunteered in Naperville schools while raising her four daughters with her husband, Carl. She is excited to join the Kim Roth – Fine Art Studio team, teaching “Pencils, Paper, Paint” for grades k to 2.
